As with all emerging Eastern European countries, the quality and service on offer in Ukraine's hotels and apartments can vary to the greatest degree, and Kyiv is only now beginning to showcase its traditions of fine service. Although there is still a shortage of upscale accommodation in the city centre, many smaller and less prestigious hotels and apartments are beginning to appear.
